If you are unable to create a folder for any possible reason, you will get an error message.
Here are some of reason for getting an error:
- Unique Top Folder Name
Publitio is created so that all the folders are made Public by default. This means that every Publitio user competes for a folder name on the root level, and there can only be 1 unique folder name in the Publitio root folder. For example: if someone creates a root folder named “Clients” no one else can name their folder “Clients”. You’d have to make a small change to the name in order to create a folder, TestProjects, and inside of it Clients.
We are planning to do an update on this behavior in the near future with an API update. The public ID for files needs to be unique to the folder or if you are uploading without a folder it must be unique across all accounts.
- The name of the folder can only contain letters and numbers
When naming your folder, you can only use letters and numbers. If you try using special characters, you will be unable to create a folder.
- You can’t add a space for Folder Name
